Transformation: Former plus-size model Crystal Renn displayed her incredible weight loss in a slinky gold dress at the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season in New York last night, and right, seen just last year looking much curvier
She was once the poster girl for the curvier woman, proudly displaying her curves in plus-size catwalks shows.
But last night Crystal Renn showed off the full extent of her weight loss as she donned a slinky gold dress to attend the opening night of the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season in New York.
The 25-year-old beauty is now virtually unrecognisable from her days of 'big' modelling, with her sharp cheekbones and tiny waist highlighting her dramatic change in appearance.
Famous friends: Crystal posed up for photographers with fashion designer Zac Posen
Crystal addressed critics of her weight loss earlier this year, insisting she is happy with the way she looks and denying she had been pressured into changing her appearance.
She said: 'When this whole weight loss thing happened, I think that a lot of people wanted to point their finger at somebody. I think that they wanted to find a conspiracy where there absolutely was none.
Gorgeous in gold: Crystal looked stunning in her shimmery gold backless gown, featuring a fishtail train
'I think the most important thing that we all need to know, whether you're a model, you're a normal person walking around, you're an editor, you're a photographer, you're anybody out in the world - it's about individual health.
'You cannot tell if someone is healthy, where they are mentally, from the outside, because health is different for everybody at different sizes.'
At the height of her plus-size modelling days, Crystal had said: 'I don't want young women to think being thin is the only way to be beautiful. Beauty is not a pant size. I'm known for my body and I'm proud of my body.'
